3

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups water

  • 1 tsp green tea leaves (Kahwa tea)

  • 1 pinch saffron strands

  • 2 green cardamoms (crushed)

  • 1 small cinnamon stick

  • 6–8 almonds (thinly sliced)

  • Honey or sugar to taste

Instructions:

  1. Boil spices: In a saucepan, add water, cardamom, cinnamon, and saffron. Bring to a gentle boil.

  2. Add tea: Switch off the heat. Add green tea leaves and cover the pan.

  3. Steep: Let it steep for 1–2 minutes (do not over-boil or it will turn bitter).

  4. Strain: Strain the tea into cups.

  5. Sweeten & garnish: Add honey or sugar as needed and garnish with sliced almonds.

  6. Serve: Serve hot, especially in cold weather or after meals.

Tips:

  • Do not boil tea leaves directly.

  • Use saffron sparingly for authentic aroma.

  • Kahwa is traditionally served without milk.
