Kashmiri Kahwa
Ingredients:
2 cups water
1 tsp green tea leaves (Kahwa tea)
1 pinch saffron strands
2 green cardamoms (crushed)
1 small cinnamon stick
6–8 almonds (thinly sliced)
Honey or sugar to taste
Instructions:
Boil spices: In a saucepan, add water, cardamom, cinnamon, and saffron. Bring to a gentle boil.
Add tea: Switch off the heat. Add green tea leaves and cover the pan.
Steep: Let it steep for 1–2 minutes (do not over-boil or it will turn bitter).
Strain: Strain the tea into cups.
Sweeten & garnish: Add honey or sugar as needed and garnish with sliced almonds.
Serve: Serve hot, especially in cold weather or after meals.
Tips:
Do not boil tea leaves directly.
Use saffron sparingly for authentic aroma.
